TENNILLE, Ga. - Mr. Ralph Purser, age 91, of Tennille, died Friday, April 04, 2008 at the Oconee Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 2:00pm in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Rev. Chuck Love and Rev. Dwight Irons will officiate. Mr. Purser was born in Bleckley County the son of the late John Purser and the late Lennie Bea Jones Purser. He was the owner/operator of Ralph's Shoe Shop in Tennille and was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church. Mr. Purser was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He is predeceased by his wife Dorris Doolittle Purser and his daughter Madie Lynne Purser. Survivors are his sisters Marcie Jones of Louisville and Fannie Cochran of Savannah, one brother Johnny B. Purser of Sandersville and nieces and nephews. The family will be at the home of Patsy and Dean Blount 109 Zeta Street in Tennille and will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
