LEXINGTON, Ga. - Mr. Emory E. Waldrop, 79, of Taylor Rd., entered into rest Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gibson. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park, Ga. Mr. Waldrop was a native of Fulton Co., Ga., an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a roofer. Mr. Waldrop was married to Betty Whelchel and the late Janet Waldrop. He is survived by one son, Tracey Waldrop of Riverdale; three daughters, Patricia Taylor May and her husband James of Gibson, Lynn Wills Johnson and her husband Wayne of Elberton, and Darlene Cogging of Athens; two brothers, Bobby Waldrop of Fairburn and Richard "Pete" Waldrop of Atlanta; one sister, Dorothy Mashburn of Stockbridge; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Bobby Waldrop, Brandon Taylor, David Taylor, Ronnie Aaron, Kenny Coggins, and Ray Kitchens. The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
