MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Willie Percy Davis, of South Belair Road, Martinez, entered into rest Friday, March 28, 2008. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Grovetown, with Rev. Frank Lewis and Rev. Melvin Adams, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Downs Cemetery. He was a native of Marion County, S.C., a member of New Holt Baptist Church, where he played guitar for the male chorus, a graduate of Morris College, Sumter, S.C., a United States Army veteran, and a retired school teacher with the Richmond County Board of Education. Survivors are his wife, Eunice Clark Davis, Martinez; three sons, Geoffrey (Lisa) Davis, Kimberly, Wisconsin, Quintin (Ann) Davis, Harlem, Ga., Carnealius Davis, Martinez; one daughter, Carlotta La Faye Davis, Martinez; five sisters, Gladys D. Newton, St. Petersburg, Fla., Annie P. Davis, Philadelphia, Pa., Daisy D. (Matthew) Graves, Marion, S.C., Lucille A. Davis, St. Petersburg, Fla., Lizzie (Edward Lee) Smith, Rains, S.C.; one brother, George E. Davis, Newark, N.J.; three grandchildren, Joseph C. Davis, Malcolm S. Gayle, and Anika Diener; one great-grandchild, Iyana Dunn; devoted nephew, Rev. Ernest Davis, Marion, S.C.; devoted sister-in-law, Mary Clark, Augusta; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Remains will lie in state at the church 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 1:45 p.m. Williams Funeral Home, 1765 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
