VAUCLUSE, S.C. - Completed life's journey and answered God's call on Monday, March 31, 2008, Mr. Laverne Widener, age 63, of Vaucluse, S.C., widower of the late Patricia Stroble Widener and son of the late Albert Widener and the late Lila Seigler Widener. He is survived by a son, Christopher Widener of Vaucluse and daughter, Carolyn Redd of Aiken; and four brothers, Edward (Brenda) Widener of Aiken, James (Margaret) Widener of Aiken, Robert Widener of Graniteville, Larry Widener (Carolyn) of Neeses; and three sisters, Minnie Mae Boyd of Windsor, June Dyches of Aiken, Alberta (Nick) Adams of Warrenville; two grandchildren, Tammy Soloman and Christy Soloman; one great- grandchild, Aleah Solomon; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was born in and was a life long resident of Vaucluse. He was an electrician with Ohio Brass/ Hubbell. He was a member of University Parkway Church of God. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is now reaping his reward, because he has gone to his eternal home where there is no more pain or sorrow. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Henry D. Shaffer and Rev. Reggie Widener officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Stacey Widener, Brian Widener, Scott Adams, Steve Corbett, Clifton Kneece, and Rabun Cowart.
