AUGUSTA, Ga. - Rev. Dr. Emmett Thomas Martin, Jr., of Shadowood Drive, entered into rest on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Historic Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Hill, Sr. officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Historic Springfield Baptist Church Building Fund. The following Honorary pallbearers are asked to assemble at church at 10:30 a.m. Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees of Springfield Baptist Church, Downtown Ministers' Association, Area Ministers, Walker Baptist Association, Tenth District General Missionary Convention, Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and Lucy Laney Class of 1956. Rev. Martin will lie in state at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Williams Funeral Home, 2945 Old Tobacco Rd., Hephzibah, GA.
