Thomas H. Smith (GROVETOWN, Ga.)

GROVETOWN, Ga. - Funeral services for Mr. Thomas H. Smith, 83, of Hunting Tower Drive, Grovetown, GA, who entered into rest March 30, 2008, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. David D. Stockton officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. Mr. Smith was a native of Meridian, Mississippi, a former resident of North Augusta for 55 years, having made Grovetown his recent home. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Belvedere, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and Korea, a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Smith was a retired Chief of Maintenance at The Veterans Administration Hospital and husband of the late Mrs. Lucy Abney Smith. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Paul Buskirk, Grovetown; five grandchildren, Jena Morris, Diana Medina, Paula Marchildon, Carla Smith and Ashley Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Christina Medina, Brittany Medina, Abram Morris, Josh Morris, Christian Marchildon, Katie Smith, Logan Smith and Leah Smith. Pallbearers will be Henry Wylds, J.M. Stone, Michael Stone and Darrell Creswell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 7 until 9.
