SYLVANIA, Ga. - Mr. Robert B. Bazemore, Sr., age 67, passed away on Friday, March 28th at Candler Hospital in Savannah. The Screven County native was a member of Sylvania First Baptist Church where he was a deacon and member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Mr. Bazemore was a U.S. Army Veteran and a custom home builder with membership in the Association of Home Builders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen Blackburn Bazemore and two brothers, Ernest Bazemore, Jr. and Johnny Bazemore. Mr. Bazemore is survived by his wife, Vera Powell Bazemore of Sylvania; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon B. and Bryan Sowell of Lawrenceville, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. Jr. and Alena B. Bazemore of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra B. and Curtis Brannen of Sylvania and Terri B. and Robert Chadwick of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three grandchildren, Aidan Sowell of Lawrenceville and Seth Bazemore and Emily Bazemore of Philadelphia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Bazemore will be Monday, March 31st at 2 p.m. at Sylvania First Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Norris officiating. Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
