Well gee, this puts a new kink in the situation, but it shouldn't rule out a paternity test. Vasectomies and tubal ligations do have a failure rate. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
AIKEN --- A national magazine says James Brown couldn't possibly be papa to the young boy the singer's disputed fourth wife says is the music legend's heir.
Men's magazine GQ 's lengthy article on the singer says Mr. Brown, a noted womanizer who fathered at least 10 children, had a vasectomy nearly a quarter of a century ago.
The claim raises further doubts about the paternity of James Brown II, the 6-year-old son of Tomi Rae Hynie Brown.
Mrs. Brown says the child, born in 2001, is Mr. Brown's son, but longtime advisers say the boy Mr. Brown called "Little Man" is not the singer's child -- and even he didn't believe so.
No paternity test has been done on the child, whose court-appointed guardian ad litem has challenged the singer's will to get the boy a share of Mr. Brown's estate.
Neither James II nor his mother were mentioned in the singer's 2000 will, which was drafted before the child was born and before Mr. and Mrs. Brown exchanged vows.
Though the article does not name the source for this information, confidant Andre White, who was with the singer when he died in an Atlanta hospital on Christmas Day 2006, told The Augusta Chronicle on Friday that Mr. Brown's closest friends and at least one daughter knew he'd had the surgery.
"He was very proud of it," Mr. White said Friday. "It was just common knowledge among all his friends."
Mr. Brown said the surgery was painless, Mr. White said, although at one point he did say he was considering having it reversed.
Mr. White also shared other information with the magazine, along with his theory that his longtime employer was murdered.
In an interview Friday with The Chronicle , Mr. White wouldn't say whom he believes to be behind Mr. Brown's death. Mr. Brown's death certificate says he died from cardiac arrest.

So, do a DNA already! On ALL of 'em!
Augusta's worst soap opera.
I have heard about all of this that I can take. DNA this DNA that. I saw James Brown in the T.A.M.I. show in about 1964. I new every group in the program 'but James Brown. I would say he left some kind of impression on me. I had the privildge of meeting him 3 times outside of his big world. The children need to quit fighting amongst them selfs and the court needs to find out who stole Jame's money. We already know who got a big chunk. As most people proably see it Jame's Brown was not the best person in the world but he is far from being the worst. The people who stole his money YEA you are running for last place. I hope the next hurricane wipes your house and island off the face of the earth. Yea Buddy Dallas if i did not have in laws in Thompson God could take that piece of s--t town with him to.
James Brown was correct to say in his will that if the will be challenged, they won't get anything. Now, they are so far in debt, they have to auction off his house in Beech Island to pay court costs??? They should have left well enough alone!
Who kil't da Godfapher?
Who did not kill an idiot?
"He was very proud of it," Mr. White said Friday. "It was just common knowledge among all his friends."..............why choose now to announce this??? Why not when all the paternaty crap was going down? Smells funny......................................
Wow it just doesn't end......This man has his name in the limelight more now than when he was alive...Just fight it in private I for one am tired of reading about him over and over and over again......:-)
The only ones to benefit from this will be the lawyers involved.
More briefs to file, more motions to make, more fees to charge.
Where are the doctors records? Bet the 'daughter' that knew about it is the same one that sued 'papa'. Mr.Brown was a great artist, may he rest in peace.
Ain't no way he is resting in peace with all this crap going on!
dear hypo,
lol man, lol!
Actually either his vasectomy could have been reversed or sperm could be isolated from his epididymus and in vitro fertilization. As long as he's got his berries he could feasibly find a way. You still make sperm just the pipeline is cut. Let him rest in peace.
I wish they would go ahead and do the DNA testing before any of his children get another day older. This has to be harder on them than anyone. They don't deserve this stress and controversy, whether they are biologically his or not. Whenever I saw him and his wife, Tomi Rae and that child, they looked and acted like a family. That young boy looks like her AND him. If he accepted him as his own, named him after himself, that's good enough for me. As for the legal mumbo jumbo, get it over with, so the family can move on. And I agree with Tomi Rae, if they are demanding her son, HIS NAMESAKE, has to be tested, then test ALL of them. Fair's fair.
Why do laboratories not take all dna tests from 0% to 99.9%. We had one done and it turned out 99.6, and it is from mixed family and baby is so white with none of the black genes. Does anyone know about the percents and recessive genes?
I woule agree that baby Brown is obviously of mixed ethnicity and warrants a paternity test. But, I have never seen a mixed child totally white and blues eyes.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!!! (James Brown really isn't worth wasting words on!)
