Oysters and toast

The third annual Oyster Roast and Toast will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Daniel Field airport. There will be roasted, steamed and raw oysters; chicken fingers; desserts; wine; beer; soft drinks and music by The Toasters.

Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. The event benefits Child Enrichment Inc., the Child Advocacy Center and Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Imperial ballet

The Augusta Ballet will present Ballet Stars of New York at 7 p.m. Friday at the Imperial Theatre, 745 Broad St. The Augusta Symphony will provide music for the evening's program, which includes works by George Balanchine and Christopher Wheeldon.

The fifth annual Black Tie Gala at the Augusta Museum of History will follow the performance.

Performance ticket prices range from $15 to $35, and gala tickets are $135. Student and senior citizen discounts are available.

Cookin' for Kids

The 19th annual Cookin' for Kids will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Daniel Field airport. Cooking teams will participate in a wild game, barbecue and fish cook-off. Attractions will include food, raptor and reptile shows, Ladybug the Clown, karaoke and children's games.

Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older, $3 for ages 3-12, and free for ages 2 and younger. The proceeds benefit abused, neglected and abandoned children in the area.

Pet benefit

CSRA Humane Society will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its pet center, 425 Wood St. The event will benefit its homeless pets. Call (706) 261-7387.

Club performance

Musical lecture

Charting a course
