HARLEM, Ga. - Mrs. Myrtle Saxon Eskew, 79, wife of the late James V. Eskew, entered into rest on Monday, March 24, 2008, at University Hospital, Augusta, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Bethesda Baptist Church with the Dr. Dean Watson officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Eskew was born on December 5, 1928, in Screven County to the late Crawford and Gussie Saxon. She was a retired supervisor for Trooper, Inc. She will be remembered for being strong-hardworking and never giving up, having respect for others as well as being a compassionate person. She had a deep love for her family and a strong sense of duty. Her favorite things were old photos her church activities. Mrs. Eskew's favorite poem was 'Say It Now'. She was a member of the Lady of Grace Oldie Goldie of Bethesda Baptist, the Fruit Bearers Sunday School Class and was a member of the Choir. Survivors include her children, Shelia Mitchell, Martinez, Mark Eskew, David Eskew, William Eskew, Danny Eskew, and Allen Eskew, of Harlem; her Grandchildren, Scott ( Nancy) Mitchell, Colleen (Marc) Rejas, and Ginny (Chad) Woodams, Velvet Champagne, Preston Eskew, Joy Phillips and Joshua Eskew; her Great-grandchildren, Kristi Mitchell, Blake Mitchell, Makenna Mitchell, and Kyhla Jade Rejas, , Ravem Sierra Rejas, Briannah Lea Woodhams, Dawson Cade Woodhams, and James Cooke ; one sister, Grace Williams, Millen; one brother Wilton Saxon, Millen; two special friends Jeanne Smith and Dawn Smith and daughter-in-law Nancy Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Ray Walling, Bill Nixon, Dennis Turner, Leroy McKinney, Phillip Knight, and William McCarthy.
