AUGUSTA, Ga. - Gloria Goldenberg, 81, of Augusta entered into rest on Monday, March 24, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Edgar Lee Goldenberg. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania with Rabbi Brandwine officiating. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Goldenberg lived in Augusta since 1989 and was a member of Congregation Children of Israel. Mrs. Goldenberg retired as a weekend coordinator/office support staff at Res Care Homecare, formerly Southern Health Care, in 2007. Survivors include one son, Jack Goldenberg and his wife Catherine Goldenberg of Augusta, Georgia; one daughter Penny Goldenberg and her partner Kristen Miller of Brooklyn, New York; one grandchild, Stacy (Goldenberg) Jackson and her husband Dr. Joseph L. Jackson, Jr. of Waynesboro, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine Buna Jackson and Joseph L. Jackson, III, both of Waynesboro, Georgia and one cousin Helen Koziol, Russellton, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Carl Goldenberg. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Children of Israel, 3005 Walton Way, Augusta, Georgia 30909 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
