Christine Conley sustained an injury consistent with a concussion and was discharged from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Georgia team physician Fred Reifsteck said Monday. Conley, a senior, is expected to make a full recovery.
Reifsteck said that, after Conley fell, the team trainer got to her within seconds and found her awake and alert.
"She said she knew when I came out that it was me," Reifsteck said.
The first-round game between Georgia and Iowa was delayed several minutes in the second half while Conley lay at center court.
UCLA: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute was set to undergo an MRI on his sprained left ankle, and Josh Shipp was recovering from strep throat Monday, putting two of the Bruins' starters at less than full strength.
Top-seeded UCLA (33-3) plays Western Kentucky (29-6) Thursday night in the NCAA Tournament Regional semifinals in Phoenix.
Coach Ben Howland said the MRI on Mbah a Moute was being done as a precaution.
Mbah a Moute returned Saturday night against Texas A&M after missing two games. He had two points, eight rebounds, six turnovers and four fouls in 32 minutes.
VILLANOVA: Center Casiem Drummond broke his right ankle in the Wildcats' NCAA Tournament second-round win over Siena and will miss the rest of the season.
The sophomore center was set to have a screw inserted into the ankle today.
