Two bodies found in home engulfed in fire

NORTH CHARLESTON --- Two people have been killed in a fire at North Charleston home that lacked electric service.

Firefighters responded to the fire about 2 a.m. Sunday. North Charleston Fire Department Battalion Chief Eric Phillips told The Post and Courier of Charleston that witnesses said they heard people yelling.

He said the fire was too intense for firefighters to go inside when they arrived. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found the bodies of a man and woman inside. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
