SANFORD, Fla. - Shelley Gilmore Byler, 24 of North Augusta, S.C. entered into rest on Thursday, March 13, 2008 in her hometown of Sanford, Fla. at Central Florida Region Hospital. Funeral services were held at GracePointe Church of the Nazarene in Sanford on Tuesday. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at Midland Valley 1st Church of the Nazarene in Clearwater, S.C. Mrs. Byler is survived by her husband of 20 months, Billy Byler and parents James and Marlene Gilmore, sisters Ashley and Courtney Gilmore and brother James Gilmore. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be sent to the Shelley Byler Foundation at GracePointe Church of the Nazarene, 2581 South Sanford Ave. Sanford, FL 32773. I am so sorry to find out about Shelley's passing. I never had the honor of meeting her in person, but her Mom, Marlene, was one of my best friends in high school. I still have a little picture that Mar mailed me of her with Shelley and Ashley. The girls were toddlers but beautiful already, just like their Mom. Marlene was as beautiful inside as she was externally. I'm sorry that I never met Shelley, Ashley, Courtney and Jim Gilmore (father and son). I'm sure that they're all very special people, just like Marlene. I regret so much that we didn't keep in touch, but I still thought about my friend, Marlene, frequently and with a lot of love. My thoughts and prayers will be Shelley, her husband Billy, Marlene and Jim and their entire family.
