Tonight's game between Augusta State and Clayton State will mark the seventh time the two schools have played in the past two seasons.

The Jaguars and Lakers split those six games, with Clayton State twice bouncing Augusta State from the Peach Belt Conference Tournament over the past two years.

The Lakers grabbed 19 offensive rebounds and rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit. Tyrekus "A.J." Bowman missed a pair of long-range, game-winning jump shots at the end of the contest.

Ben Madgen scored a game-high 21, while Bowman drained the game-winning free throws with nine seconds remaining for the victory.

JAN. 5, 2008

Upset with how the Jaguars played, Augusta State coach Dip Metress called his team's victory "embarrassing." Clayton State grabbed 20 offensive rebounds. Bowman scored 24 points.

Daniel Dixon's desperation, game-tying 3-pointer was called off in the final moments. Moments earlier, Dip Metress had called a timeout.

Michael Sloan scored 22 points as the Lakers snapped the Jaguars' conference winning streak at 14 games.
