UGA plans to run bus routes all night long

ATHENS, GA. --- Going to college is not a 9-to-5 job, something University of Georgia administrators are beginning to realize.

Some UGA dining and study halls began opening 24 hours a day about a year ago. To serve the students who want to take advantage of around-the-clock facilities, this fall the UGA Campus Transit System will begin running some buses during the pre-dawn hours.

It's in the planning stages, but the transit system probably will circulate buses from 1 to 6 a.m. between dormitories, Snelling Dining Commons, the UGA Main Library and the Student Learning Center, UGA Transit Director Ron Hamelin said.
