AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Kathleen Purvis Suggs, 80, widow of the late Quinnie Suggs, entered into rest on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 3:00PM at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with Chaplain Steve Russ officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Suggs was born Mildred Kathleen Purvis, the daughter of Joseph A. and Willie Ethel Purvis. She was married for 56 years to the late Quinnie Suggs. She was a loving, gentle person who was always ready to help someone. Her smile was not easy to forget. She loved her family and working in the yard, and also loved to crochet. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by a son, Randall Suggs and his wife, Andee, of Lincolnton, three daughters, Barbara S. Kemp and husband, Lewis of Evans, Betty S. Whitehead and husband, Sollie, of Claxton, GA., and Quinette S. Kelly and husband, Gene, of Martinez, and a brother, Ralph Anthony Purvis and wife, Jewel, of Gaithersburg, MD. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Purvis and a sister, Willie Mae Crumney. Pallbearers will be David Kemp, Aaron Kemp, Rob Evans, Tony Brown, Ryan Blalock, A.J. Crosby, and Michael Kelly.
