AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Pearl "Big Mama" D. Armstrong, of Hunter Street, entered into rest Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Beulah Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Davis officiating. Burial will be at Walker Memorial Park. Mrs. Armstrong, a native of Warren County, Ga., retired as an accomplished cook for the Georgia Railroad Line, traveling all across Georgia with her railroad crew. She was a member of Beulah Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of Isis and Heroines of Jericho. Survivors are her daughter, Ruth Crawford, Augusta; stepson, M.L. (Mildred) Armstrong, Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Clara Allen, Cincinnati, Ohio; nephew, Ralph (Gladys) Wright, Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, Amanda Holmes and Connie Dix, Augusta; sixteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
