AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Evelyn "Jeanette" Snell, of Dothan, Al. and formerly of Augusta, died on Thursday, March 13, 2008. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 16, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Homes, West Chapel, 3686 Wheeler Road, 706-860-0009. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grove First Baptist Church. Mrs. Snell will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Rev. Frank Thigpen will officiate. Committal services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family invites friends to rejoin them at the church following the services at the cemetery for a reception and time of fellowship. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Paul Snell Jr. and DonaLynn Burroughs Snell of Grovetown; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Dianne Bedsole and Harold Bedsole of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren, Lacey Dianne Bowen and her husband Aaron Joseph Sick of Springfield, Illinois, Stephen Michael Bowen of Augusta, Trey Lynne Bowen of Grovetown, Jessica Leigh Smith and her fianc Benjamin Strickland of Dothan, Alabama, Corey Colan Stafford of Statesboro, Adrienne Marie Bedsole, Katrina Lauren Bedsole, Eric Daniel Bedsole, all of Dothan, Angelique Dawn Burroughs Snell of Grovetown; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Isabelle Sick; her sister and brother-in-law, Barabara Poole and Raymond Poole of Augusta; her nephew, Greg Poole of Clearwater, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Paul Snell Sr., in 1980; her daughter, Paula S. Bowen; her son-in-law Joseph Stephen Bowen; her brother, William (Bill) Caraway. Pallbearers are Ben Strickland, Brad James, Ken Snell, Greg Poole, Eric Snell, and Jason Morris. The Poteet Funeral Homes, West Chapel, 3686 Wheeler Road, Augusta 706-860-0009 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
