AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. James Wimburn, 84, of Augusta, Georgia entered into rest on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Charlie Norwood V. A. Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Lillian Dixon Wimburn. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel with Reverend Bill Burch officiating. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Cemetery, Wrens, Georgia. A native of Wrens, Georgia, James was the son of the late James Lawson Wimburn and the late Agnes Fleming Wimburn. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was co-owner of Interstate Supply Company. James was a member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church. Additional survivors include two sons, James Michael Wimburn and his wife Pam of Appling, Georgia, and John Burke Wimburn of Augusta, Georgia; two daughters, Bonnie Wimburn Smith of Portland, Oregon and Diane Clark of North Augusta, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Agnes Fleming Silvey and Eleanor Fleming Powell both of Augusta, Georgia.
