Comments from our readers:

IN REPLY TO THE RANT about Hephzibah being stuck in the 1950s: If being stuck in the '50s means my kids can walk through the neighborhood without worrying about thugs, that I know my neighbors' names, and that I don't have to worry about being robbed blind ... then please leave me in the '50s.

RAVES TO Helen Blocker-Adams for proving that local talk radio hosts don't have to be obstreperous and disrespectful to be effective.

A RANT FOR Medical College of Georgia. They should have put a pedestrian bridge on that corner a long time ago. I went to school there 20 years ago and we had the same problem.

RIVERWATCH IS beautiful right now. Can anyone tell me what the white flowers and the red unfurling leaves are?

A RANT AGAINST the new format of The Chronicle . I have called this rant in about four times and I have never seen it in the paper and nothing has changed on it.

A RANT FOR THE North Augusta City Council. What a shame to have allowed the condos under the bridge to have been built.

A RANT FOR traffic control at 15th Street and the medical college. I have been in large cities both in the U.S. and overseas where all traffic is stopped on all intersections and all pedestrians cross at one time. Why doesn't Augusta try something like that? I give my sympathy to the young lady that was killed.

A RANT FOR THE Dilbert cartoon strip in your newspaper. I find it offensive to be using Jesus for a cartoon character's name.

RAVES TO Warden Walker and his team at Augusta State Medical Prison for protecting our community.

RANTS FOR those boards of education that are unwilling to authorize their superintendents and principals to deal with knuckleheads and the disruptions these miscreants create in our schools.
