FRIENDS OF THE AIKEN COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
From Staff
Sunday, March 16, 2008

MEET: The third Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. at the library, 314 Chesterfield St. S.W., Aiken. The annual meeting will be in October.

MEMBERSHIP: You don't have to be a member to attend meetings. Friends of the library can donate at these levels: $15 for individuals, $25 for families, $50 for businesses and $100 for patrons.

MISSION: To provide help, assistance and money to the Aiken County Public Library. This includes covering expenses not covered by the library budget. Friends of the library also develop fundraising programs and events. The group funds the DVD rental program and helped establish the wireless capabilities in the library. The next project is to raise money for more nonfiction titles.

"It is about supporting a very valuable resource to the community," said Victor Dwar, the president of the library-support group.
