Ernest Odell Arthur (AIKEN, S.C.)

AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Ernest Odell Arthur, 91, of Aiken, SC, beloved husband of fifty-nine years to the late Margaret Freeman Arthur and son of the late Ernest and Alice Kneece Arthur, entered into rest Thursday, March 13th, 2008. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, Mr. Arthur was a retired welder having worked for Graniteville Company and Daniels Construction. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Graniteville, SC. Family members include a daughter, Gloria A. Hoke, (Wayne) Niceville, FL; son, the late Gerald 'Jerry' Arthur, siblings, Brunson Arthur, Aiken, SC, Roy Arthur, Aiken, SC, and Myrtle Holton, FL; grandchildren, Renee Hoke and Christopher Hoke, (Sandra) and triplet great-granddaughters, Charley, Maya, and Lily Hoke. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 16th, 2008, at 3 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Larry Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Odell Arthur, Blan Crawford, Michael Kiser, Kevin Matthews, Jeff White, and Ronnie Dickey. The family has suggested that memorials in memory of Mr. Arthur be made to Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center, 830 Laurens St., Aiken, SC 29801.
