AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Jean Williams, 65, of Augusta, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Born in Newberry, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Ira Cole Wilson, Sr. and Ruth Henley Wilson. Mrs. Williams was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Augusta, and served as a member of the church choir. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ira Wilson, Jr., Wilbert Wilson, and three sisters, Viola Saddler, Dorothy Duckett, and Pearl Sligh. She is survived by her husband, Grady Williams, Sr.; three sons, Anthony Wilson, Eric Wilson, and Grady Williams, Jr.; two daughters, Annie Williams and Diane Williams; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; a son-in-law, James Prescot; three daughters-in-law, Paula Wilson, Denise Wilson, and Shemariah Williams; a brother-in-law, Saul Jones and numerous other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Service will be conducted Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity A.M.E. Church in Newberry, S.C. with Reverend Dr. Elijah Sutton officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
