AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Clyde Daniel Shiver, 73, husband of Connie Cobb Shiver, of Martin Rd, entered into rest on Friday, March 14, 2008, at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 4:00 pm from the Chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with the Reverend Marion Jay and the Reverend Jim Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Shiver was a native of Augusta and served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves. He was a member of the Augusta Men's Bowling Association for forty-two years. He retired after seven years as a route salesman with Dixie Riverside. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Christopher D. Shiver, son and daughter in law, Cameron D. and Kathy Shiver, of Martinez, son and daughter in law, C. Duane and Monica Shiver of Evans; daughter and son in law Diane and Ricky Dunaway, of Aiken, SC; and grandchildren, Tayler E. Shiver, Austin C. Shiver, Heather M. Shiver, Clay Shiver, Cory Shiver, Chase Shiver, Cole Shiver, Stephen Dunaway, Stefanie Travers, and Danielle Bruner. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Clara Spence Shiver. Pallbearers will be Eddie Newsome, Stephen Dunaway, Austin Shiver, David Allen, Jay Kennedy, and Jeff Kennedy. If desired, memorials may be made to Sherwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 3131 Old Louisville Rd, Augusta, GA 30906.
