AUGUSTA, Ga. - Willie James "Tim" Newton was born in Viola Newton and the late Willie Lee Oliver on August 30, 1948 in Burke County, Ga. He attended school in Burke County and was employed with Apex Company until becoming unable to work. He was also known for his mechanical skills. He had two brothers that preceded him in death: Roger Newton and Ivory James Brigham. Willie "Tim" Newton leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Jasper Newton; a mother, Viola Brigham; devoted friend, Alberta Mozee; six sisters, Henrietta Brigham of Augusta, Emma Moten of Girard, Ga., Connie (Thomas) Sheppard, Bobbie J. Brigham, Jaqueline B. (Clifford) Greene, all of Waynesboro, Ga. and Geneva (Joe) Foreman of South Carolina; three brothers, John Randy (Teresa) Brigham of Girard, Willie James (Mae Pearl) Oliver and Ralph Oliver; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted today, March 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Walter Dukes officiating. Interment will be in Lovett Cemetery.
