GROVETOWN, Ga. - Vera Louise Batchelor Burke Carroll, age 78, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta. The Bulloch County native was a homemaker and a member of Big Horse Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by: Husband: Bo Carroll; Son: James Lee Burke; Brother: Larry Batchelor. Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Helen Judy and Nathan Bennett of Sylvania, Elizabeth and Allen Oglesby, Jr. of Augusta and Leona and Robert Hawthorne of Harlem; Son: Gerald Burke of Grovetown; Sisters: Jeanette Owens of Augusta and Ida Mae McKinney of Sylvania; Brothers: Harry Batchelor of Midville and Cecil Batchelor of Augusta; 10 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; A Number of Nieces and Nephews. Visitation: Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services: Monday, March 14, 2008, at 11:00 AM, at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Rev. John Parker officiating. Burial at Big Horse Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
