BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Henry "Ned" Jackson, Sr., 98, of CCC Road, entered into rest February 29, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Old Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Jackson, a native of Edgefield County, retired after 35 years of service as a porter for the Atlantic Coastline and CSX Railroad. He was a member and deacon of Old Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include four devoted children, King Heyward Jackson, Newport News, Va., Henry Jackson, Jr., Wade "Mickey" Jackson, Graniteville, S.C., and Mattie Jackson Burroughs (Douglas), Augusta; one brother, Woodrow Jackson, Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three devoted caregivers, Rosa Pickens, Delores Williams, and Juanita Potter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
