AUGUSTA, Ga. - A. Mark Maddox passed away March 5, 2008. He was born in Atlanta and grew up in Jonesboro, GA. He graduated from Jonesboro High School, attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL on a football scholarship. He transferred to UGA after Samford discontinued football. He was an aide to Rep. Jack Flint in Washington, D.C. for 2 years. He then went to Augusta to manage Bob Maddox Dodge. He is survived by his daughter: Kaylor M. Maddox; son: William M. Maddox; and their mother: Peggy McCarthy Maddox; parents: Robert A. and Anita Maddox; brothers: David L. Maddox, R. Greg Maddox and wife Sally; sister: Robin M. Haney and husband Allen and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Hanson Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Marietta City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alcoholic's Anonymous, 113 Camilla Dr., Augusta, GA 30907.
