AUGUSTA, Ga. - Sis. Annie Mears Hampton, of 3047 Griggs Court, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 29, 2008 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Rev. Oscar E. Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. She was a native of Augusta and the daughter of the late Harvey and Vanne Dickson. She was a very active member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a missionary and deaconess for over sixty years. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children: daughter, Luvenia Jackson, son, Henry Mears, Jr. and wife Freddie Mears, and son, William L. Mears (deceased); one sister-in-law, Luvenia Pearson; seven stepchildren; one goddaughter, Ruth Conyer; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grands; two great-great- grands; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends this evening 7-8 p.m. at Dent's Undertaking Establishment. The Historic Dent's Undertaking Establishment serving the CSRA since the 1800's.
