clean your closet

It's not just a chore anymore -- you can do good by donating clothes you no longer wear to the Children's Resource Center, which is operated by the Columbia County Foundation for Children.

The Xtreme Teen Board wants to help you help others. Drop off items in the specified boxes in your school's lobby or front office; at The Augusta Chronicle, 725 Broad St.; the Columbia County Bureau, 4272 Washington Road, Suite 3B, Evans; or the Aiken County Bureau, 123 Pendleton St. N.W., in Aiken. We'll pick them up and take them to the children's center for you.

The center provides free clothing to children in need and also functions as a store where needy families can buy clothing and other items. Children are referred by the Department of Family and Children Services, schools and churches.
