In Rainbows

ARTIST: Radiohead

RELEASED ON CD: Jan. 1

MY THOUGHTS: Radiohead continues to innovate alternative rock with this CD. The first track, 15 Steps , is melodic and a pleasant surprise, although the rest of the album is definitely different. Faust Arp is an enjoyable and scattered two-minute song that leaves you wanting more. My favorite track is Videotape , although the drums could have been left out.

GRADE: A

'The Spiderwick Chronicles'

RELEASED: Feb. 14

MY THOUGHTS: Mallory, Jared and Simon Grace have more than their share of hard times. Their parents have divorced and they've moved into the strange house of their 86-year-old Aunt Lucinda.

When a load of creepy happenings arouse young Jared's curiosity, the family becomes involved in a mystery that they'll never forget.

MY THOUGHTS: I loved the way this movie addressed divorce. It shows the serious effect of divorce and other family traumas on a child, but still holds the lighthearted adventure of a classic Nickelodeon movie.

MY GRADE: B

'Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins'

RATING: PG-13

RELEASED: Feb. 8

THE PLOT: Martin Lawrence stars as Roscoe Jenkins, a famous talk-show host. When he returns to his rural hometown for a family reunion with his celebrity fiancee, he is reunited with his loony family and their traditions.

MY THOUGHTS: It's one of the funniest movies of this year. Be prepared for nonstop laughter and a good moral lesson.

GRADE: A+
