Carolina rants and raves

RANT FOR SOUTH Carolina Highway Department. Why don't you make (the speed limit on) U.S. Highway 1 from Aiken to Augusta 45 mph instead of having 55, 45, 55, 45?

WE WERE VERY disappointed that Comcast did not allow us to see the University of South Carolina/Mississippi State basketball game. It was on WIS-TV. Comcast instead showed government in action on that channel. Aiken cable allowed their customers the opportunity to see the game. We would like to get WIS 24 hours a day. If we can't, at least let us watch the sports programs on that station.

THIS IS RANT about the Aiken/Augusta speed trap. Burnettown finally got what they wanted (35 mph speed limit). Thanks, Andy and Barney!

RANT ON POOR Aiken County Sheriff's Office. I took off work to talk to the sheriff. He wasn't there. I told the lady in the lobby about a suspected drug dealer in my neighborhood. She told me she would get somebody in narcotics. She came back and told me nobody was there. I gave her my home and cell number. She told me I would be contacted. I didn't get a phone call. I called back a few days later and talked to the sheriff. He told me I would get a call. I have yet to get a call from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office. If I have to call SLED in Columbia, I will. Somebody needs replacing. My neighborhood has plenty of kids. We don't need any crackheads or potheads. I don't like being lied to. All voters need to remember this.

RANTS FOR THOSE boards of education that are unwilling to authorize their superintendents and principals to deal with knuckleheads and the disruptions these miscreants create in our schools.

TO THE PEOPLE who live on Audubon Circle and New Castle Avenue in Belvedere, Please keep your dogs on a leash or in your fenced yard. Those dogs are going to get hurt by a car, or the dogcatcher will pick them up.

THIS IS A RANT to the men interviewed by WRDW about the cockfighting investigation in South Carolina. Each of the two men seemed to think that there is nothing wrong with cockfighting. This is absolutely disgusting and appalling. It seems that animals are becoming more and more disposable to our country's citizens, what with dogfighting incidents, grave mistreatment of animals in factory farms, and now this local act of cockfighting, not to mention countless acts of animal abuse going on right now. I find it absolutely horrible that people can treat animals in such an atrocious manner. I hope that the two men featured in the news report, as well as all others who mistreat animals, will realize that what they are doing and advocating is wrong in every way.

AN AIKEN OUTFIT has unveiled a truck that runs on hydrogen. Has anybody ever heard of the hydrogen bomb? Hydrogen explodes!
