YULEE, Fla. - Charlie Willie Simons, Jr., 60, of Yulee, Fla., passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a native of Warrenton, Ga. and moved to Yulee, Fla. 20 years ago from Thomson, Ga. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Simons was a Vietnam veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He is survived by two sons, Scott Simons (Crystal) of Folkston, Ga. and Ryan Simons, also of Folkston; a daughter, Samantha Simons of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; one brother, Vernon Simons (Glenda) of Thomson, Ga.; a sister, Linda Johnson (William) of Washington, Ga.; three grandchildren; an aunt, Dot Jones; uncle, Walter Jones; and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Stephens Family Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home in Yulee, Fla. with Rev. Frank Camarotti officiating. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery with military honors presented by the U.S. Army. He was a good man who will always be loved and missed by his family.
