WAYNESBORO, Va. - Rev. Edward Eugene Guldenschuh, 81, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Sunday morning, February 24, 2008, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born February 25, 1926, in Binghamton, New York, he was a son of the late Arthur and Violet (Bryant) Guldenschuh. Rev. Guldenschuh was a U. S. Navy veteran and received his Bachelors Degree from Atlantic Christian College, graduated Cum Laude. He also completed coursework for ordination at Wesley Theological Seminary and Duke University Divinity School. He served in the United Methodist Conference since 1969, and was minister of Rankin United Methodist Church of Stuarts Draft until his illness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Donald Guldenschuh. Survivors include his wife of 62 Ú years, June Guldenschuh, two sons: Blaine and Shirley Guldenschuh of Prospect Hill, North Carolina, Jon and Karen Guldenschuh of Beaverdam, a daughter, Lynette and Robert Doyle of Prince George, three brothers: Charles Guldenschuh of Augusta, Georgia, Robert Guldenschuh of Eden, North Carolina, George Guldenschuh of Poughkeepsie, New York, a sister, Donna Taylor of Iowa City, Iowa, eight grandchildren: Jennifer Vincent, Scott Doyle, Mianna Guldenschuh, Eugene Chaffin, Eric Guldenschuh, Amanda Doyle, Austin Bires, Lori Rose, and seven great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with the Revs. Kathleen Overby-Webster and Gary Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Rankin United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eugene Chaffin, Eric Guldenschuh, Scott Doyle, Marc Bryant, Frank McKenney, and Everette Moses. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at the funeral home.
