ATLANTA, Ga. - Marie Louise Williams Morse Hinson, 95, died at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 23, 2008, surrounded by the love of her family. A native of Augusta, Georgia, Marie was born May 9, 1912, to the late Nicholas Eugene Williams and Ola Mae Davidson Williams. She attended Tubman High School in Augusta. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Morse, in 1943 and John Otho Hinson, her second husband, in 1976. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Williams and her half-brother, Edwin Cliatt. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Williams McChesney; her sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" Brack Morse, Sr. and his wife Charlotte, Michael Otho Hinson and his wife Angela, daughter- in-law Patricia Gill Ford; grandchildren, William Brack Morse, Jr., Katherine Elizabeth Hinson, John Otho Brittingham Hinson and his wife Kyle, and Courtney Ann Preston Hinson; great-granddaughter, Frances Symone Gamble; nephew Samuel Jefferson McChesney, Jr. and his wife Kaye; niece Virginia "Ginger" McChesney Anderson and her husband Henry "Ken"; great- nephews, Charles Kenneth Anderson and Paul Samuel McChesney; great-nieces, Emily Ruth McChensey Skinner and her husband William "Billy" and Virginia Marie Anderson Ray and her husband Phillip. Marie was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church of North Augusta. An inspiration to all that she met, Marie lived a very full and wonderful life. Marie was a devoted wife and mother. She was a gifted homemaker who loved to entertain and enjoyed sewing for her niece and grandchildren and their dolls. Marie had a special love for the city of Houston, Texas. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Presbyterian Church, 1101 Carolina Avenue, North Augusta, South Carolina. The Reverend Doctor Daniel McCall will officiate, assisted by The Reverend Doctor Robert Fuller. Interment will be immediately following the service at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta. Pallbearers will be John Hinson, William Morse, Billy Skinner, Sajan Samuel, Paul McChesney and William Kirk. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Platt's Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Marie W. Hinson.
