HARLEM, Ga. - Mr. Dayton J. Woods, 82, husband of Mrs. Alease Malone Woods, entered into rest February 25, 2008, at his residence. Funeral services will at 11 AM on Thursday February 28, 2008, at Starling Funeral Home with the Reverend Lucius Cato officiating. Interment will be at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, near Grovetown, Ga. Mr. Woods was born in Shelby, Ohio and was raised in Gap Mills, West Virginia. He had previously lived in Grovetown for 45 years. Mr. Woods had worked with Christian Metal Screen Company and was an Army veteran of World War II, having received numerous medals including the Purple Heart. Survivors include wife of 61 years Mrs. Alease Woods; his children, Lamar Luckey (Virginia) Woods, Ricky Woods, Connie Akins, Shirley (Felton) Beasley; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; 2 Aunts, Elsie Wiseman and Nellie Sarver of West Virginia; and good friend Warren Wren. He was preceded in death by his mother Myrtle Caldwell and two children, Fred Woods and Huline Langley Pallbearers will be Stacy Woods, Robert Akins, Chris Woods, Daniel Beasley, Scott Young, and Warren Wren. Friends may call at the residence.
