NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Wilson, 84, of North Hills Drive, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest February 25, 2008, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Reverend Jerry T. Matthews and Dr. Jody C. Wright officiating. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Greenville, Tennessee, Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Barnwell County, SC, a former resident of Bristol, Tennessee, having made North Augusta her home for the past twenty years. She was a 1943 graduate of Winthrop College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. During World War II she was employed in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and was later employed with Tennessee Eastman Kodak of Kingsport, Tennessee. She retired from the Bristol Tennessee Public School System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Faithful Sunday School Class, the Sheffield Club, a former member of the Martintown Road Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bristol, Tennessee. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Robert Manly and Sarah Thomas Barker and wife of the late John Dudley Wilson. Survivors include her son, John Eugene Wilson, Reno, NV; two sisters, Ann Ness and her husband Harold, Denmark, SC and Grace B. Monroe, Rocky Mount, NC, a former resident of North Augusta; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Tallent, Greenville, TN; seven nieces, Rebecca M. Peterson, Pensacola, FL, Deborah M. Wright, Rocky Mount, NC, Melissa M. Baughman, Greensboro, NC, Constance N. Stamps, Jacksonville, FL, Genie T. Jackson, Blountville, TN, Marty T. Folk, Ft. Myers, FL and Ann T. White, Orlando, FL; a nephew, Phillip Ness, Georgetown, SC. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
