WILLISTON, S.C. - Funeral services for Tom Willis Smith, Sr., 74, will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with visitation from one-thirty p.m. until the time of service at the church. The Revs. Floyd Dukes and David O'Donnell will be officiating, with burial at The Williston Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to The Williston Cemetery Fund, P.O. Born in Augusta, GA, he was a son of the late Winchester Smith, Jr. and Helen Willis Smith. He attended Clemson A and M College, where he was a catcher for the baseball team and has been a member of the Clemson Iptay Club for fifty-five years. After school, he return home and worked for Winchester Smith Farms and retired from the SC Department of Corrections. He served in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division during the Korean Conflict, was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Median Sunday School Class. He was a member of the American Legion Post #75. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Schumpert Smith of the home, sons, Tom Jr. (Nora) Smith, Norman III (Virginia) Smith, daughters, Helen (Robert) Cooper, Jodia (Tim) Lintner; grandchildren, Tom Willis Smith, III, Jessica Smith, Murray Smith IV, Kalin Smith, Jackson Cooper, Annabelle Cooper, Zach Grimes, Nicholas Lintner; step-grandchildren, Tim Roach, Tandra Rhoad, Ashle Cooper, Briana Jacobs, Emily Lintner and Evan Lintner; step-great grandchildren, Wyatt, Jacob and Garrett Rhoad.
