Great idea! When should we start supporting it?
All this debate about when life begins, and legislators (not doctors, scientists or theologians) are writing it into our Constitution! Let's stop focusing on when life begins and start supporting it once it has arrived.

Stop holding people personally responsible for their actions and let's start instituting some good old fashion socialism.
Does this mean that the lady is not supporting her children.
...uh... I not sure what Ms. Johnson means exactly. But I agree with JonRandalphHardisonCain, Socialism must be what she's talking about. Another product of our Marcuseian/marxist government school programming perhaps? This 60's were so liberating! Lets make everyone else raise our kids, after all I need ME time!
It looks obvious to me what she means. Keep abortion as it is (ie...stop debating it) and start forcing everyone to take care of everyone elses children when they are born.

Was Robin Hood the first Communist? Rob from the rich and give to the poor. Of course we remember that Robin and his merry men did a "cut of the booty".
All of the scientific evidence points to "life has arrived at fertilization". So I suggest we all start treating life with respect, dignity, and protection from that point forward.
Or wondering why you are given a choice by some that you either except murdering children as normal or you adopt all the unwanted children. It's all just that black and white. If wanting people to not murder a child makes me judgemental and vociferous, then so be it.
by the way....there really are no unwanted children....just unwilling parents.
No...I think I will do just fine taking care of my own children. It's a thing called personal responsibility.....look into it. Thanks for proving my point though.
I can't help but wonder how many of those who favor a woman's "choice" to murder her child are out adopting crack babies and driving that formula to DFACS? It's easy to criticize. Put your money where your mouth is.
fd, there would be a lot more if the government would terminate parental rights once in a while. Its much nicer to the crackhead parents to put the kid in foster care and give them back when they get out of jail. The courts also like to recind adoptions when mommy decides after a few years that they want to be a parent again. Thats why so many adopt overseas.
One way to implement Elizabeth Johnson's suggestion is to cease America's military adventures in foreign lands. In Iraq alone, at a cost of one trillion dollars +, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed/maimed; millions have been turned into refugees; one-half of the population (women) is now suffering under the horrific burdens of Islamic law; water systems, sewage systems, electric power systems, and public and private buildings have been destroyed. The oil that our politicians told us was going to be used to pay for all of this destruction seems to have disappeared. So, to enable all of this progress and liberty and freedom, American politicians (from The Shrub on down) have used the Chinese credit card and, in the process, are destroying the value of the U.S. dollar. The Iraqi and American peoples were MUCH better served by Saddam (the tyrant and criminal) then they have been by America's political "leaders," both Republi-con and Demon-rat. As the American empire crumbles, Americans sleep. Except for forcing a child to die. Let's not forget about that. What have I proposed that anyone be forced to do? Oh yeah....forcing people to take responsibility for their actions. We can't have that in your ideal society. The one where people are FORCED to hand over their money to pay for other peoples responsibilites.
fd1962, saying that pro-life people aren't standing in line to adopt these children, is an outright lie, so look in the mirror to determine who is judgmental. We are exactly the people that do this. Your lack of respect for life is showing on all levels.
Neither are "pro choicers." They just criticize others for not being there. Where are the "pro choicers" when these poor people are put in the taxis? I guess they only support them when the choice they make is to kill their child.
But their insistance that Pro Lifers do, displays their own hypocrisy.

fd- I agree with the point that the pro-lifers seem more focused on being pro birth. After birth, where is the compassion? Why do the majority of these pro-lifers support the death penalty, our imperialistic military adventures (great post knave - but most don't care about the Iraqi dead), etc.?
