KEYSVILLE, Ga. - Honorable Councilman Clayton "Sonny" Neely, Jr. entered into rest on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at his residence. He leaves to cherish loving memories to his wife of 46 years, Turetha E. Neely; two sons, Clayton B. and Carl M. Neely; four daughters, Phenelopa "Pennie" (Wayne) Thompson, Sharon D. Neely, Aundria (Jeffery) Gilchrist, and Roshanda Neely; six grandchildren, Tiera (Anthony) Bowen, Jeffery Gilchrist, II, Nykia Frierson-Neely, Brianna Gilchrist, Robert Gilchrist, and DeAndre Gilchrist; three great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; four brothers, James D. Neely, Nathaniel (Beatrice) Neely, George (Hattie) Neely, and Earl Neely; seven sisters, Ruby Butler, Bobie Neely, Lillie Alice (Donald) Wright, Elouise (George) Washington, Bernice Scott, Christeen (Conrad) Boykins, and Harriett (Marvin) Scott; a very special godson, Robert Gray; an adopted mother, Mrs. Leola Scott and family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Thompson Springhill A.M.E. Church in Matthews, Ga. The Rev. Robert Edwards will be officiating the service.
