AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Ernest Holmes entered into rest Saturday, February 8, 2008 at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Highland Avenue, with Bro. Joseph Walden officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park. He was a native of Richmond County, Ga., retired from the V.A. Medical Center, and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors are his wife, Mary Holmes; three sisters, Betty Glasker, Augusta, Juanita (Jimmie) Cherry, Bronx, N.Y., Ernestine (his twin) Brown, Augusta; four brothers, Clarence (Florine) Holmes, Richmond, Va., Marshall (Eula) Holmes, Augusta, Charles (Vivian) Holmes, Savannah, Ga., Jerry Holmes, Augusta; aunt, Dora Davis, Augusta; uncle, Leonard Davis, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
