GLOVERVILLE, S.C. - Completed life's journey and entered into rest on Saturday, February 9, 2008, Mr. William "Crook" Barfield, Jr., of Gloverville, S.C., loving husband of Joyce Holsonback Barfield and son of the late William Elton Barfield and the late Carrie Whitlock Barfield. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, William Neil Barfield of Vaucluse, S.C., Michael Roy Barfield of Hephzibah, Ga., Stephen Glenn Barfield of Graniteville, S.C. and Kenneth Michael Barfield of Pelion, S.C.; a daughter, Kelly Sue Barfield Carter of Vaucluse, S.C.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County. He was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran with twenty-one years and nine months of dedicated service to his country, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pine Forrest Baptist Church in Langley. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who also loved his God and Country. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Langley with Rev. Ron Doss and Rev. Carl Hayes officiating. Memorials in Mr. Barfield's honor may be made to Pine Forrest Baptist Church in Langley or Gloverville First Baptist Church in Gloverville.
