Cecil J. Simmons , son of Lorie Dekle, of Hephzibah, has earned a degree from North Georgia College and State University, Dahlonega.
Named to dean's list
- Lee Thomas Browning and Leonard Terry Lovett , both of Augusta, have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Valdosta (Ga.) State University.
- Chiquita V. Beard and Charlotte S. Kelley , both of Augusta, have been named to the fall semester dean's list at Clayton State University, Morrow, Ga.
- Patrick Hawkins , of Augusta, and Betty LaFontaine , of Hephzibah, have been named to the fall semester dean's list at Piedmont College.
Gets NAACP award
Judge John H. Ruffin Jr. has been presented the Augusta Branch NAACP Drum Major for Justice Award for his service to the NAACP and the legal profession.
Gets scholarship
Brandon Crumsey , of Augusta, has received a $500 scholarship at Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Ga.
