- Because of an editor's error, an article in Wednesday's editions of The Augusta Chronicle misstated the number of days in Lent. The period of prayer and fasting observed by many Christians lasts 40 days and is not affected by the fact that 2008 is a leap year.
The Chronicle regrets the error.
