BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. James Earl Scott, Jr., 71, of Davis Simmons Lane, entered into rest February 3, 2008 at his residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mr. Scott, a native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Contis Davis Scott; two sons, James Scott, III, Staten Island, N.Y. and Brian Scott, Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter, Carolyn Davis, Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Bennie (Jessie) Scott, Charlotte, N.C., Nathan (Karen) Scott, Atlanta City, N.J., and Roger (Angel) Scott, Tarboro, N.C.; four sisters, Edith (Bill) Church and Maryann Scott, Brooklyn, N.Y., Pamela McCuller, Baltimore, Md., and Sheila (Walter) Williams, Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; seven grandchildren; five brothers- in-law, Dandy (Gladys) Davis, North Augusta, George (Betty) Davis, Augusta, Luther (Geraldine) Davis, Jersey City, N.J., Eddie (Betty) Davis, Greensboro, N.C., and John C. Davis, Martinez; four sisters-in- law, Lucille Simmons, New Ellenton, S.C., Evelyn (Clem) Davis, Queens, N.Y., Mary (John) Coleman, Atlanta, Ga., and Annie (Willie) Allen, Aiken, S.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
