The Aiken County Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department is holding spring youth soccer registration today through Feb. 22 at Harrison-Caver Park, 4181 Augusta Road, Clearwater.

Free tax service
The Aiken Public Library will have free income tax preparation for low and middle income taxpayers with special attention for those ages 60 and older through April 10. Taxes are prepared by volunteer counselors who are trained by the Internal Revenue Service.
The Nancy Carson Library will have income tax preparation and electronic filing available for free from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays through April 15, by appointment only. Call (803) 279-5767.
Bring copies of 2006 federal and state tax returns and current year W-2s, 1099, Social Security card and picture ID.

The Edgefield County School District will sponsor an educational summit from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Johnston-Edgefield-Trenton Middle School, 1095 Columbia Road, Johnston, S.C.
There will be booths with information on topics from help with homework to nutrition and family field trips. There will also be a computer giveaway and other door prizes.

History on parade

There will be an antique tractor and engine show, tractor and truck pulls, kids pedal pull, sawmill, veneer mill and other demonstrations and exhibits.
