SARDIS, Ga. - Franklin W. Jenkins, 67 , of Sardis, GA passed away at University Hospital on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Mr. Jenkins is survived by his loving wife, Alice. G. Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a native of Burke County, Georgia and the son of the late Dwight and Mary Lizzie Holland Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was retired from Augusta Newsprint. Mr. Jenkins is additionally survived by his six children, Wendy J. Whitler (Chad) of Florida, Ashley W. Jenkins (Debbie) of Augusta, GA, E. Dean Jenkins (Brooke) of Statesboro, GA, Alicia C. Gulley (Bobby) of Sylvania, GA, Rhonda J. Fry (Jerry) of North Augusta, SC, Bobby C. Jenkins, Jr. (Sandi) of Sardis, GA; three brothers, Thomas Jenkins (Lena) and Louis Jenkins (Sara) of Savannah, GA, and Haze Jenkins (Marie) of Hephzibah, GA; six sisters, Betty Odum, Eva Nell Ellison (Gene) and Barbara Hamilton (Herman) of Sardis, GA, Lois Prickett of Hephzibah, GA, Ellen McDilda of Claxton, GA, and Sherry Tanner (Butch) of Augusta, GA; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial graveside service will be held today at 2:00pm at Jenkins Family Cemetery in Sardis, GA with Rev. Yonce Lively officiating.
