awe that is aweful =/ i had two friend that had the same problem but wasn't as lucky as the Ross family. Be glad that ya'll made it out in time. I WILL be making donations...this story has touched my heart deeply. God Bless this family!
Miriam Ross awoke early Sunday to the sound of her husband screaming.
The 25-year-old mother of two from Waynesboro grabbed her daughter and crawled through the black smoke that filled her mobile home to find the rest of her family safe outside, but not without injury.
Ms. Ross, her husband, Terrence, and their 2-year-old son were taken to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta to be treated for first- and second-degree burns. Their home, on Georgia Highway 56, and most of their possessions were destroyed. Firefighters determined a small space heater sparked the blaze, Ms. Ross said.
"The smoke was on me and my daughter's end of the home and the flames were where my husband and my other baby was," Ms. Ross said. "If it had been a few moments later it would have been too late. We got out just in time."
Now, friends of the Ross family are hoping to get them back on their feet.
From 6 to 9 p.m. today, members of New Jerusalem Apostolic Holiness Ministries, Inc., of 3505 Janet Drive, will hold a fundraiser to help the family, according to Kristenia Smiley, a church member. Donations may also be made from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The family is requesting food, clothes and especially monetary donations to help with medical bills. Their son, Terrence Jr., who suffered second-degree burns on his nose and mouth, was recently dropped from PeachCare, Georgia's health-care program for uninsured children, she said.
For information on how to donate to the family, contact Ms. Smiley at (706) 496-2764.

wonder why he was dropped from peach care. Is there a fee for peach care? I'll be praying for the family and i'll be making a donation also.
You get dropped from peachcare if you don't pay your bill on time-they will cancel out your account because the state is so much in debt they are just waiting for you to faulter on the agreement of timely payments. Also, you have to become recertified yearly to show your income, this is another cause of cancellation. The monthly payment for the healthcare is $10.00, and all medications are free. Maybe, this family can talk to the financial advisor at the hospital and they can get her back on the plan to cover the childs medical.
