AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mary Elizabeth Tennison McGahee, 94, wife of the late Eddie J. McGahee, entered into rest on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Golden Living, formerly Beverly Manor. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel with the Rev. Lester Clark and Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Doug Churchville, Derek Churchville, Berry Videtto, Randy Radford, Ray Willis and Calvin Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be current and former members of the Kennedy-Sunshine Class of Crestview Baptist Church. Mrs. McGahee lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and the Kennedy-Sunshine Class at the church. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Ellie Ruth McGahee, Hephzibah; grandson and spouse, Lance and Kim McGahee, Evans; great-granddaughter, Julianna McGahee, Evans; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Alexander Tennison and Mary Jane Brannen Tennison; brothers, Clyde and Mack Tennison; sisters, Mamie Coleman, Callie Bragg, Susie T. Wilson, Minnie T. Avant and Melrose T. Arnold. The family wishes to thank the staff of Golden Living for the care they provided. Special thanks to the care givers that served her while she was in her home: Mary Dinkins, Daisy Cody, Bessie Harden and Hattie Johnson.
